After two days of no Internet, it is a struggle to get in the mode of what and how to write. So here are some facts:
When I went to bed on Tuesday night, I figured out it had been 58 hours since I went to bed. I had snatches of bad sleep on the plane and bus, but no real rest. Praise Jesus because I was not horrible to people.
I am staying with my good friend Mary (a fellow Contemplator, and moreso) at the Newcastle house of a lovely lady named Ann. She has a West Highland Terrier, so we are the envy of many in our group. Today I got a kiss on the nose from Archie. Ann is feeding us soft-boiled eggs in egg cups, and the toast is for dipping.
We went to Durham cathedral yesterday, where St Cuthbert is enshrined. We had a cream tea and prayed on the roof.
The people are overwhelmingly gracious, warm, loving. The House of Prayer is freezing. I spent 15 minutes in a prayer box, and could have stayed a lot longer. I'm sure I will get to.
I can't post photos yet, but will do so when next possible. I haven't taken a ton of photos, but you can see some on Instagram or Facebook.
Ways you can pray for me: to be able to rest in the midst of people. Endurance and grace. Connections. Revelation. Insight.
Tomorrow we are going to Lindisfarne, Holy Island. The thing I have been looking forward to so much. I brought my (Dad's) medium format film camera, and can't wait to shoot out there.
I love you!
